Meeting and building relationships with patients is what dentistry is all about for Dr. Truong. She says that nothing is more fulfilling than crafting or restoring someone’s smile and seeing how it changes their life for the better in the process. She can’t wait to have that same positive impact on you, and you can start getting to know her below.

Why Did You Decide to Become a Dentist?

Dr. Truong’s interest in dentistry started in high school when she had the opportunity to shadow in a local dental office. She always wanted a rewarding, multifaceted career, and she knew then that dentistry could offer exactly that, letting her be an educator, artist, engineer, and health advocate all in one.

Where Did You Study Dentistry?

After completing her undergraduate education at UC Berkeley, Dr. Truong went on to earn her dental degree from the Arizona School of Dentistry and Oral Health. Throughout the course of her career, she has taken several continuing education courses focused on restorative and cosmetic dentistry, and she’s also an active member of the American Dental Association and Texas Dental Association.

In 2015 and 2016, Dr. Truong had the opportunity to travel and live in various remote areas throughout the United States, from Ladysmith, WI, to Greeley, CO, to Bethel, AK, to Houston, TX, practicing dentistry in various community health clinics, which gave her valuable real-world experience.

What Do You Like to Do Outside of the Dental Office?

Originally from Sacramento, CA, Dr. Truong and her husband (an oral and maxillofacial surgeon), along with their two daughters, relocated to their new forever home of Frisco after stints in Honolulu and Nashville. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling, and exploring new places and restaurants.
