Dr. Marrium Haroon is an accomplished Board-Certified Periodontist and Implant Surgeon with a deep commitment to dental education and patient care. Since graduating from dental school in 2012, she has continuously expanded her knowledge and skills through advanced training and research. Her dedication to the field is evident in her numerous achievements and contributions! She looks forward to caring for Prime Time Dentistry patients and helping them rebuild strong, confident teeth.
Where Did You Study Dentistry?
To further enhance her skills after college, Dr. Haroon pursued a fellowship in Periodontics and Implantology at the University of Kentucky. This program allowed her to delve deeper into the specialized field of periodontics and gain expertise in implant placement. During her time at the Mission Clinic in Lexington, Kentucky, Dr. Haroon provided comprehensive dental care, including periodontal treatments and implant surgeries.
Continuing her pursuit of excellence, Dr. Haroon undertook a rigorous three-year residency program in periodontics at the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC). This program not only refined her clinical skills but also provided her with an opportunity to contribute as a chief resident. At UIC, she obtained a master’s degree in oral sciences, further solidifying her knowledge in the field of periodontics.
Today, Dr. Haroon is a Board-Certified Periodontist and Implant Surgeon. Board-Certified Periodontists are members of a distinguished group of practitioners who have made significant achievements beyond the mandatory educational requirements of the specialty. Board certification also represents a personal and professional commitment to the standards of periodontics and to continued growth through ongoing education. Diplomates are required to maintain certification through continuing education and periodic testing, which demonstrates a commitment to lifelong learning and requires Diplomates to continually update their knowledge and skills.
What are Some of Your Professional Accomplishments?
In 2022, Dr. Haroon achieved a significant milestone by successfully placing over 2,000 dental implants and restoring over 300 full arches using the All-on-4 technique. Today, she places and restores more than 2,500 implants each year. This demonstrates her expertise and proficiency in implant dentistry, particularly in the revolutionary All-on-4/X method.
In 2024, Dr. Haroon was selected as one of the Top Dentists for the 40 Under 40 Magazine, which reflects not only professional accomplishments but also a commitment to delivering exceptional patient care and staying at the forefront of advancements in Dentistry. She is also one of the youngest members of Full Arch Masterminds for Surgeons, which is an exclusive community of elite dental professionals focusing on mastering full arch rehabilitation. This exclusive group fosters collaboration, knowledge-sharing, and the exchange of cutting-edge techniques to provide transformative results for patients through All-on-X restorations.
In addition to achieving significant educational milestones for herself, Dr. Haroon is also actively involved in educating fellow dentists and providing CE courses on dental implant placement, bone grafting, and soft tissue grafting. She has recently provided CE courses in partnership with some of the largest Dental Implant and Oral Biologics manufacturers, such as Straumann, Neodent, and Maxxeus.
One notable aspect of Dr. Haroon’s professional journey is her research on the impact of dental awareness on the oral hygiene practices of medical and dental students. She has presented her findings at the International Association for Dental Research (IADR) and has even published her research in reputable journals. Her work sheds light on the importance of dental education and its influence on oral health habits.
Beyond her research, Dr. Haroon has actively engaged in charitable dental initiatives. She has volunteered her time and expertise with Give Kids A Smile, an organization that provides dental care to underprivileged children.
